One of the most amazing places you can find in Connecticut.

This building is in much better condition than most of the old mills/factories I have photographed with my friend Ted Roth in recent years. The roof and the inside is incredible well redone or preserved, fairly new windows …almost too good to photograph. Luckily there were a few items left behind that gave us a chance to create a composition.
I think it happens quite often, you plan a day photographing something and for one reason or another it doesn’t work out so you and up doing something different , unplanned. That is exactly what happened to us when my friend Ted Roth and myself decided to go and photograph the Danbury Railroad Museum. Well that place wasn’t open so we ended up at the Hearthstone Castle which was just a few minutes drive away from the museum.
It was March 28th but it felt like it was still winter inside the building when we ( Ted Roth and myself ) revisited the Old Mill in Winsted at 10 Bridge street. The weather outside was a nice, almost pleasant 45 degrees, but inside there was still a lots of ice around and it was still bitterly cold since the temps dropped to the low teens during the previous night. After two hours of shooting I had enough.
