My good friend, Ted Roth arranged a short tour for us at this amazing place. The buildings used to house the Winsted Hosiery which at one point was the largest hosiery manufacturer in the state. Now two of the main buildings are occupied by artists and the other two is currently being rebuilt. Among other uses they will be the home of the American Mural Project. Stanley Works June 1 2017
My friend, Ted Roth arranged a new visit to Stanley Works for us ( that is him Meredith Hicks Wilcox and myself) . Much of the standing buildings are now slated for demolition starting in July, so we were lucky to have this opportunity. Not much change from the last time we were there 2 years ago, I just tried to work with some different composition and used my IR camera as well.
Stanley Works, New Britain
We had the good fortune to get permission to photograph inside of the closed down section of Stanley Works Factory. Founded by Federick T. Stanley in 1843, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut, was one of the biggest employer in the state . The complex is huge, we hope to get back many more times .
