Shanty Town in Hudson, New York
Off the beaten path in Hudson, New York I found the remnants of a little town that time, flood and ice took a terrible toll. Beautiful but in the same time quite spooky place. It is completely abandoned now but there always seem to be a few people driving in and out of the place. In case you are interested there is some good write-up about it is here:https://theotherhudsonvalley.com/2017/06/07/hudson-ny-furgary-shack-village and here:http://hudsonriverzeitgeist.com/home/2015/7/31/five-things-to-know-about-hudsons-furgary-shacks-which-the-state-just-saved
Hudson Valley Steampunk Fest at the Rhinebeck Aerodrome
Since most people have not the faintest idea what “Steampunk” is, here is the definition form Wikipedia:
#1: a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction.
#2: a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology.
The fans of Steampunk in the Hudson Valley had their very first and very successful gathering at the Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Some amazing and totally creative outfits, just perfect for photography. I was accompanied by two other member of our Housatonic Camera Club , Dawn Dingee and Rick Pauline.
